It’s beginning to look alot like fudge making season! I have a huge sweet tooth and I love this recipe. My daughter, who inherited my sweet tooth, loves it as well. It is a simple, yet homemade – the – kind – your – grandmother – would – make chocolate fudge.
Holiday season means I will be making a lot more candy confections. And throw in a few adult holiday beverages along the way. So stay tuned for more.
Now onto the recipe:
1 bag of semi sweet chocolate chips
1 stick of butter or margarine
2 cups of sugar
1 1/4 cup of evaporated milk
1 tbsp of vanilla flavor
Add the semi sweet chocolate chips, 1 stick of butter and 1 tbsp of vanilla flavor to a bowl and set aside.
Add 1 1/4 cups evaporated milk and 2 cups of sugar to a medium pan.
Bring to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer while continuing to stir for 7 minutes. Do not stop stirring! If you do bad things will happen like burning the sweet goodness. Please do not let that happen.
This is what it looks like after 7 minutes.
Next, and your cooked milk product to your bowl of chocolates. Mix thoroughly.
Pour into an 8×8 pan to cool before slicing. I placed mine in the refrigerator for 4 hours before I cut it. If you cut it before it’s totally done cooling you will be eating it from a spoon.
The finished product! Yes, it’s yummy and totally worth the calories. Hooray to holiday cooking season!
Please come back for more cooking adventures. Enjoy!
Melissa
