Welcome back readers! As we all know, I am loving my garden this year. Everything is growing beautifully and is extremely healthy. Love, water, sunshine and nutrients are the ingredients for a bountiful garden. Now, I did add some compost to some of my garden plants. They are loving it! Here is a picture of the compost in the container.
Yes, it looks gross, but the plants love it and that’s all that matters. My kids even thought it was awful smelling while I was adding it.
To start your own compost, you can add the following kitchen scraps:
Egg shells
Peelings
Used coffee grounds
Used tea bags
Rotten vegetables
Pits
Leaves
Nut shells (no walnuts)
That was all that was in mine. Then, you add it to your soil and add more soil if desired, and water. Voila! Instant plant happiness!

Here’s how a couple of my plants are doing since the compost addition….
Carrots
Squash and tomatoes
Looking great as can be! The kids love to help me water them and my hubby is kind of thrilled at the garden progress this year. Well, amazed actually.
Now here is my newest garden baby…
Sweet Bell Pepper
I cannot wait until it gets bigger! Anyone have tips or secrets for making this one grow happier?
I hope you enjoyed this brief garden addition read and come back soon!
